Quick Eatz Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Q Eatz Ltd (“Quick Eatz”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the Quick Eatz app and website at quickeatz.co.uk.
Quick Eatz is a marketplace that connects customers with independent restaurants, takeaways and shops (“Partners”). This policy applies to customers who order through Quick Eatz. Partners have a separate business agreement.
1. Personal information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address and telephone number when you create an account.
- Delivery and collection information — the order type, scheduled time and any order notes you provide.
- Delivery addresses — the address you enter for delivery orders, saved in your profile for faster checkout.
- Location — if you enable location permissions, we use your approximate or precise location to show nearby restaurants and to power features such as “Near Me” and “Roll the Dice”. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- Order and purchase history — the orders you place, including items, totals, payment method and order status.
- Searches and app interactions — searches, cuisine selections and browsing activity are processed to show you relevant restaurants. This activity is used to display results and is not retained in a personal profile unless you place an order.
- Device, diagnostic and crash data — standard technical information such as device type, operating system, browser, IP address and crash or diagnostic data, processed by our hosting provider to keep the service secure and reliable.
- Notification tokens — if you enable push notifications on the Quick Eatz mobile app, a device notification token may be processed to deliver order updates. You can disable notifications at any time.
- Payment information — see “Payments” below. We do not store your full card number.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To process, fulfil and deliver your orders, including sharing the necessary details with the Partner and any delivery driver.
- To send you order status updates and transactional emails.
- To show you nearby restaurants and relevant results when you use location or search.
- To operate loyalty points and promotions you take part in.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and chargebacks, and to keep the service secure.
- To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
3. UK GDPR lawful bases
- Contract — to take and fulfil your orders and run your account.
- Consent — for location, push notifications and any optional marketing, where applicable.
- Legal obligation — to retain accounting, tax and fraud-prevention records.
- Legitimate interests — for security, fraud prevention and keeping the service reliable.
4. How we share your information
We share your information only as needed to operate the service:
- Partners (restaurants, takeaways, shops and branches) — the Partner fulfilling your order receives your name, telephone number, delivery address and order details so they can prepare and deliver it.
- Delivery drivers — for delivery orders, the assigned driver receives the delivery address and contact telephone number to complete the delivery.
- Payment provider — Tapaya — in-person card payments are processed by Tapaya (Tap to Pay). Quick Eatz does not receive or store your full card number.
- Mapping provider — Google Maps — used for address lookup and geocoding when you search or use location features.
- Hosting provider — Base44 — provides the database, authentication and application hosting that Quick Eatz runs on.
- Email provider — used to send you transactional and verification emails.
We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with providers that are genuinely enabled to run the service.
5. Data security
We protect your information using access controls, encrypted connections and a service-role architecture that restricts administrative operations. Verification tokens are hashed, never stored in plain text. Payment card details are handled entirely by Tapaya and never enter Quick Eatz systems.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Order, payment, accounting and tax records may be retained for as long as required by UK law, with personal information removed or anonymised wherever possible.
7. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Account → Settings → Privacy & Account → Delete Account in the app, or from our public Account Deletion page. After verification, we remove your profile, saved addresses, loyalty points, notifications and personal preferences. Certain order, payment, fraud-prevention, accounting or tax records may be retained where legally required, with personal information removed or anonymised.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
- Access — request a copy of your personal information.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal information (see Account deletion).
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your information.
- Portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@qeatz.co.uk.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
The Quick Eatz app and website use essential storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and preferences, and keep the service secure. We do not use advertising cookies. Any analytics are limited to what is needed to keep the service reliable.
10. Age restrictions and alcohol compliance
You must be aged 18 or over to create an account or use Quick Eatz. Quick Eatz is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Alcohol is available only from participating Partners that are authorised and licensed to sell it. Quick Eatz verifies the premises licence before allowing a Partner to list alcohol. When you order alcohol, you confirm that you are aged 18 or over and that an adult aged 18 or over will personally receive the order.
To comply with UK licensing law, Quick Eatz operates a Challenge 25 age-verification policy. At delivery or collection, the driver or a member of staff may ask to see valid photographic identification if the person receiving the alcohol appears to be under 25. Acceptable identification includes a passport, a UK photocard driving licence, or a proof-of-age card displaying the PASS hologram.
We record only the outcome of the age-verification check (passed, failed or refused), the general type of identification presented, and the reason for any refusal. We do not store ID document numbers, photographs of ID documents, or any images of the recipient. This minimal record is retained to demonstrate compliance with licensing law and to protect against proxy (underage) purchasing.
Alcohol will not be left unattended, in a safe place, at the door, or with a person under 18. If alcohol is refused because the recipient cannot satisfy the age-verification requirements, the alcohol is returned to the Partner and the order is handled according to the cancellation and refund information displayed at checkout. It is prohibited to purchase alcohol for somebody under 18.
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email where appropriate.
